Jonestown Borough is governed by a Mayor and a seven-member council of representatives elected and duly sworn to serve the residents of Jonestown Borough in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Council members serve either two or four-year terms and the Mayor serves a four-year term. All elected officials serve on various committees or serve as liaisons with external agencies and the public at-large.

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge replacement project on Route 72 (Ebenezer Road) in Lebanon County is expected to begin next week. The bridge spans Swatara Creek between Jonestown Road in
Union Township and New Bunker Hill Road in Swatara Township.
Weather permitting, work will begin Monday, April 22
Jonestown Borough has been selected as one of the 2023 G3 (Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns) grant recipients from Chesapeake Bay Trust. As part of the process a Charrette (vision group) will be formed to gather your ideas and insight to plan for our downtown area focusing primarily on Founders Park. Once we have your ideas we will use them to create a conceptual design of the area which then can be implemented into a future phase of the project. Please join us, everyone is welcome ! Closure of the Frog’s Hollow bridge on state Route 72 over the Swatara Creek is set to occur in mid-April, pending weather and the contractor’s schedule. PennDOT will provide 10 to 14 days’ notice before work on the bridge will begin and detours go into place. Traffic will be routed
